Capitol Federal

Fairlawn Branch

Topeka, Kansas

This branch bank was originally constructed in 1964, with a small addition to the south completed in 1973. The bank suffered from a lack of prominence at the busy intersection, the bank entrance was turned away from the intersection, and the building had become dated. The remodeling included construction of a new, more prominent entrance marked by a tower to aid wayfinding. New exterior limestone cladding and a new metal fascia were installed to give the exterior a fresh, contemporary appearance. The interior received updated finishes and new customer service pods better suited to today’s banking services.
