Looking Back at 2023
As we roll into the new year, we want to take a moment to look back at the year just ended. What a year 2023 was for Civium Architects! We achieved so much:
In Spring 2023, construction was completed on the addition and remodeling of Sabetha Elementary School, concluding our work with USD 113 Prairie Hills which brought improvements to Axtell, Wetmore, and Sabetha Elementary school facilities throughout 2022 and 2023.
In May, Civium Architects received the Micro Enterprise Award in the Greater Topeka Partnership’s and Go Topeka’s Small Business Awards.
The New Immaculata Catholic Church was consecrated by His Excellency Bishop Bernard Fellay, FSSPX, on May 03, 2023.
Jon Schaffhausen, AIA, joined the Civium team during the summer.
Civium Architects was featured in the July/August 2023 issue of TK Business Magazine along with other local businesses “Creating Beautiful Spaces” in Topeka and Northeast Kansas.
The New Immaculata Catholic Church was featured in the December 2023 Annual Ecclesiastical Design issue of Traditional Building magazine.
Founding Principal David Heit, AIA, NCARB, was featured on the December episode of the Building Tradition podcast hosted by Peter H. Miller, Hon. AIA, where he discussed traditional church design, the New Immaculata Catholic Church, and our firm’s purpose.
