2022 In Review

As we move into a new year, we want to take look back at all that was accomplished in 2022 on Civium projects:

January: With eighteeen months of construction behind us at the New Immaculata, the exterior continued towards completion. Masonry veneer continued on the bell towers and front facade. Stucco application and metal roofing remained to be installed. On the interior, a massive scaffolding system had been installed to facilitate interior construction and finishing in the upper portions of the church.

April: Work is in full swing for the remodeling and addition at Sabetha Elementary School. Work will follow at Axtell and Wetmore once school is out for the summer.

May: Angelus Press held a public ribbon cutting and blessing for their new bookstore and offices, presided over by His Excellency, Bishop Fellay, FSSPX. Back in Topeka, Crown Distributors office renovation reached substantial completion.

August: The new secure entry and entrance canopy is complete at Sabetha Elementary School, ready to welcome students and teachers back for the new school year. The structure of the school addition is mostly complete. And the gymnasium ceiling at Wetmore School is complete for the new school year as well.

September: At the New Immaculata, five custom cast bronze bells arrive from Paccard Foundry in Annecy, France, just in time for their baptism on September 10, which His Excellency, Bishop Fellay, FSSPX, presided over. The church’s cornerstone was also blessed and set during the services. The bells were then promptly hoisted into the belfries over the next few weeks.

December: The exterior of the New Immaculata is nearly complete awaiting installation of exterior statuary. Construction of drives and parking lots proceeds with about sixty percent in place. On the interior, the scaffolding system is gone, liturgical paintings by EverGreene Architectural Arts now grace the ceilings and sanctuary. Installation of stone columns and marble flooring continues below. Construction of the new addition to Sabetha Elementary School is wrapping up. Staff take advantage of the winter break to move into the new library and music room.

What a year! We look forward to what new and exciting accomplishments 2023 holds in store! We would love to make you part of that story.
